Iron-on Patch instructions

How to attach your embroidered patch

Attach embroidered patches to fabric by ironing or sewing them using safety pins.
The iron-on attachment method is the most popular. Here’s how to apply your patch with this method.

  • Choose a sturdy base for your patch, preferably denim or cotton.

  • Lay your item on a flat, heat-proof surface.

  • Set the iron to high, steam-free setting your fabric can handle.

  • Pre-iron the chosen patch area.

  • Place the patch on the fabric.

  • Cover your patch with a thin cloth, like an extra shirt or rag.

  • Press the iron over the cloth-covered patch for 25 seconds and then another 25 seconds on the backside.

  • Remove the iron and let the patch cool.

  • Check the patch’s edges– if they are not secure repeat the process.

  • For extra durability, sew the patch edges to the fabric by hand or with a sewing machine.

  • To increase the patch’s lifespan, hand wash with cold water only when necessary.

  • Allow to air dry.

  • Full adhesion will be complete in 48 hours.
