The Great Omi, born Horace Leonard Ridler on 26 March 1882 in Surrey, England, was a renowned British sideshow performer known for his extensive body tattoos and elaborate stage persona. He adopted the stage name "The Great Omi" after undergoing a transformative tattooing process by the famed artist George ‘Professor’ Burchett, which covered his entire body, including his face, with bold black zebra-like stripes. This dramatic transformation, combined with his fabricated backstory of being captured and tattooed by New Guinea savages, made him a major attraction in the world of sideshows and circuses.
